Andigestion Ltd is part of the Summerleaze Group, a leading investor and innovator in the renewable energy sector.
Founded in 1928, Summerleaze is a privately-owned company, whose origins are in the field of mineral extraction. The company has diversified substantially since then, into fields such as waste management and renewable energy. Operating as a small, dedicated team, we aim to innovate to make the most of under-valued resources. We back ideas that we believe have a strong future on the basis of long-term fundamentals, regardless of, and often contrary to perceived wisdom or fashion.
Andigestion was established in 2004 to develop and commercialise anaerobic digestion as a viable waste-treatment technology. The company began by steadily converting the Holsworthy site to process food waste instead of farm slurries and we subsequently developed the Cambridge research plant. The growth of the AD sector and the company’s continued success means that a new facility in Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire opened its doors in 2015 this time supplying biomethane into the local gas grid.
