Andigestion, the UK anaerobic digestion innovator has launched its first dedicated food collection service for the hospitality and catering sector. The service that operates across Gloucestershire offers pubs, restaurants, hotels, schools and colleges the opportunity to recycle their food waste instead of sending it to landfill. Andigestion has targeted schools initially and already have over one hundred and fifty 240L wheelie bins in circulation collecting waste food.
Jason Ward, Commercial Development manager for Andigestion “Our wheelie bin exchange service means that our customers receive a fresh, clean bin each week, we also weigh every single bin so we can help demonstrate to our customers exactly how much food is thrown away, which helps with portion control, waste prevention and sustainability.”
Andigestion is looking to provide feedstock for its new 34,000 tonne Anaerobic Digestion facility in Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire which is due for completion in the Spring 2015.
